Hawaii jewelry designer Hector is inspired by precious metals and stones and the people that try to find that one piece of fine handcrafted Hawaiian jewelry that  is as unique as they are. He states: "With this Hawaiian engagement and wedding ring I chose a combination of platinum and gold. I craft the platinum wave pattern is separately, then apply it to the gold surface. Like my other two tone rings, I feel that the fusing of two precious metals is like the joining of two spirits, where gold represents the softer, warmer, and perhaps more emotional side and the rock hard platinum serves as its more rational opposite, yet embracing the gold gently. As I've spend a great deal of my life on the water, the inspiration for the wave arose from the idea that a relationship at times can be like riding  rough waves while at other times it's like smooth sailing on a calm sea."
